Taqweem — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Aqyrix Technologies ("we", "our", or "us") handles information in the Taqweem mobile application on iOS and Android (the "App"). By using the App you agree to this policy.

Taqweem is designed to respect your privacy. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising purposes. We do not operate a user account or cloud sync.

1. Information We Collect

• Approximate location: With your permission, the App uses approximate latitude and longitude (not precise GPS tracking) to calculate prayer times for your area, show weather, determine Qibla direction, and display a city name. Location is used while the App is in use. The last known city and coordinates may be saved on your device so the App and widgets can keep working. We do not store a location history on our servers.
• Notifications: With your permission, the App schedules prayer reminders on your device. If you also allow remote notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging may use a device token to deliver those messages.
• Favorites & settings: Prayer-calendar favorites, theme choices, Adhan preferences, and similar settings are stored locally on your device only.
• Device information: Non-identifying details such as device model and operating system version may be used so the App and its widgets function correctly.

2. How We Use Information

Information is used only to provide the App’s core features: prayer times, calendar display, weather, Qibla direction, reminders, and a localized city name. We do not upload your identity or location history to Aqyrix servers.

• Coordinates are sent to the Aladhan API to retrieve prayer times.
• Coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to retrieve weather.
• Coordinates are reverse-geocoded so we can show a city name in the language you chose in the App, using Apple Geocoder on iOS, the device Geocoder on Android, and Nominatim / OpenStreetMap as a fallback.

3. Third-Party Services

Network requests to these services include the coordinates needed for that request. We do not send your name, email, or an account identifier. Like any internet request, the service may see a technical address (such as IP address) as part of delivering the response.

• Aladhan (prayer times)
• Open-Meteo (weather)
• Nominatim / OpenStreetMap (place names)
• Apple (iOS geocoding and system services)
• Google Play Services (Android performance and in-app review)
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (optional push notifications)

4. Data Storage & Security

Preferences, favorites, and the last known city and coordinates stay on your device (including the widget where applicable). Because this data remains on the device, it is protected by your device’s own security. We encourage you to keep the device locked and up to date. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Children's Privacy

Taqweem is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

6. Your Rights

You can deny or later change location and notification permissions in system settings. You can clear the App’s local data or delete the App at any time, which removes locally stored data.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
